University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel and UW Black Studies Center Director Fredrick Douglass Dixon will host a virtual panel discussion and campus town-hall meeting Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. to discuss issues related to last week’s racist attack during a Black History Month Zoom discussion.
Members of the UW community are invited to join the discussion by going to https://wyolinks.uwyo.edu/townhallfeb24.
Seidel and a panel of campus leaders in diversity, equity and inclusion will be connected via a protected Zoom link to lead the discussion. Those connecting via WyoCast at the above link will have the opportunity to submit questions and comments; instructions on how to do so may be found here. Depending on the engagement of the audience, the session could run through 8 p.m.
In addition to Dixon and Seidel, panelists will include:
-- Jacquelyn Bridgeman, UW’s Kepler Professor of Law and director of the School of Culture, Gender and Social Justice.
-- Timberly Vogel, Black Studies Center director of community engagement.
Dixon has posted a statement on behalf of the Black Studies Center regarding this incident that can be found here.
