UWAM regularly hosts programming for the community in conjunction with our current exhibitions and visiting artists. From the Salvagio Artist Talk series, hands-on creative workshops, to intimate one-on-one tours and conversations with artists and curators, the Laramie community and all of Wyoming are welcome at UWAM to experience all the arts have to offer.

June 7th, 2024 • 5PM - 8PM: Act II Opening and Evening Performance of In The Rec Room

Join the UW Art Museum in celebrating Act II of Harold Garde at 100: The Unseen Works in Two Acts! Opening on June 1, this exclusive exhibition features 50 more never-before-exhibited works by renowned abstract expressionist Harold Garde. The museum is thrilled to partner with Relative Theatrics of Laramie to present two performances of In The Rec Room, a comedic one act play written by Garde.

June 20th, 2024 • 10AM - 1PM: Summer Solstice Celebration

Soak up the sun this summer at UWAM! Join us for our annual Summer Solstice Celebration at the University of Wyoming Art Museum.

Join our talented teaching artists in creating cyanotypes and pedal your way to a refreshing smoothie with our featured smoothie bike! Visitors can also get a close-up view of the action through solar telescopes. At noon, witness the solar event in the museum’s Rotunda Gallery. Designed with the summer solstice in mind, a beam of sunlight will penetrate the Rotunda Gallery and illuminate a silver dollar in the center of the floor at exactly noon.
