Sigma Chi arrived at the University of Wyoming in 1930 and has never left, making it the longest-standing Fraternity on campus. Sigma Chi boasts a very diverse membership, with members involved in D1 Athletics, ASUW, Intramurals, the Intrafraternity Council, UW Club Hockey, Cowboy Country Swing Club, multiple Honors Societies and Campus Employment. Sigma Chi has majors ranging from Business to Engineering, and Environmental Science to Pre-Med. The brothers are also involved in many research opportunities and other major-based opportunities on campus.
Sigma Chi is the only fraternity with an automatic scholarship program for brothers, in which those eligible receive up to $2,500 annually. The chapter house is one of the most affordable housing opportunities in Laramie and is always being renovated with the latest update being a Wifi expansion. Sigma Chi is also devoted to philanthropy and community service. Yearly, we host Derby Days, a weeklong philanthropic event, benefiting the Huntsman Cancer Research Institute. We also support local organizations such as the Epson Center for Seniors and Laramie Interfaith as a way to give back to our community.
Sigma Chi promotes lifelong brotherhood, learning, and leadership, and we strive to support each other in becoming better men for ourselves and our communities.
The vision of Sigma Chi is to provide the best preeminent leadership and character development of brotherhood, benefitting our members throughout life.
Our mission is to develop values-based leaders committed to the betterment of character, campus, and community.
Sigma Chi Core Values Include: Courage, Wisdom, Integrity, High Ambition, Self Control, Courtesy, and Fidelity.
