Indiana Professor to Give Hach Lecture

Oct. 18, 2001 -- Gary Hieftje, Indiana University Distinguished Professor And Mann Chair Of Chemistry, Will Give The Annual Clifford C. Hach Lecture Friday, Oct. 26, At 4 P.M. In Room 208 of The University of Wyoming Classroom Building.

Hieftje Will Discuss "New Tools And Techniques For Chemical Measurement And Characterization." He Has Investigated The Basic Mechanisms In Atomic Emission, Absorption, Fluorescence And Mass Spectrometric Analysis, As Well As The Development Of Atomic Methods Of Analysis.

Hieftje Is The Author Of More Than 400 Scientific Publications And 10 Books, And Is Credited With 13 Patents.

The Lecture Is Sponsored By The Uw Department Of Chemistry With Funding From The Estate Of Clifford C. Hach, Who Is Credited For Creating Easy-To-Use Water Treatment Laboratories Throughout The World.
