If this is your homepage, this area should feature a brief paragraph or two about your department. The emphasis should be on your strengths and accomplishments. For internal pages, you can include as much information as necessary.

The top navigation bar should feature the main sections of your site (and should not link to pages outside of your site). While there may be more sections than this, make these links the most important. Focus on visitors to your site, they're unlikely to navigate through a long series of pages.
