Applicants are responsible for verifying that all materials are received in the department office. It is recommended that

You may enroll in one course prior to be formally admitted to the program. In order to enroll, please complete a Non Degree

UW Admissions Requirements:
1. Completion of the online graduate application. Payment of a $50 fee is required.
Official transcripts from all Post-Secondary Institutions must be sent to UW
Admissions. We do not require official transcripts from UW.
Special Education Department Requirements:
1. Current resume
2. Contact Information (complete and submit Application Contact Information
Form
3. A copy of current Wyoming Teaching Certificate
4. Submission of a three page writing sample discussing the applicant’s academic
goals and philosophy of education.
5. Three letters of recommendation from qualified references. One letter is
requested from a current or former professor, who can comment on the
applicant’s potential to benefit from a graduate-level certification program.
(Only one of these letters may be from a University of Wyoming Special
Education faculty member.) Here is a link to the

6. An interview may be required. The department will schedule interviews with
candidates when necessary.
7. Signed Prospectus- The Prospectus must be reviewed and signed. Students
will be responsible for being aware of the information listed in the Prospectus.
