Jon Benson, Chief Executive Officer
Jon is currently the CEO of the Wyoming Technology Business Center - a statewide business development program of the University of Wyoming that is developing a technology business incubator and an outreach program focused on early stage high growth companies. Prior to joining UW in July 2005, he was the CEO of an early stage medical device company which was founded in 1998 to develop and market an optical mammography device using light from lasers to image breasts. Jon led the company through three rounds of financing and the development and testing of an experimental and Alpha prototype. In addition, he helped the company obtain SBIR Phase I and Phase II funding from the National Science Foundation and Phase I funding from the National Institutes of Health.
Prior to this, Jon was the founder & CEO of The Ben Craig Center, Inc. a technology-related business incubator started in 1986 associated with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He led the Center through its start-up phase, the development of a new 50,000 sq. ft. facility in 1990, and the establishment of a European subsidiary in 1993. Prior to the Ben Craig Center, Jon was a Program Manager with the National Science Foundation from 1979 to 1982. Jon received his BA from Miami University and his MA and Ph.D degrees from Ohio State University.

Christine Langley, Vice President

As Vice President at the WTBC, Christine provides consulting and executive coaching services to client companies.   Prior to joining UW in January 2009, Christine was part-owner in a Trade Printing company while serving as the Vice President of an education publishing company both located in Central California.  Her experience in publishing also includes regional publications from her five year tenure with Trader Publishing.  She traveled extensively as a Regional Publisher and managed 12 markets in the Western United States.
Christine’s background in entrepreneurship, general management, sales management, and human resource management make her a valuable asset to the WTBC.  She received her B.A. in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Interpersonal Communication from California State University, Fresno.  Christine is currently working on a professional certification in executive coaching from the world renowned Coach Training Institute.

Greg Jordan, Vice President Outreach Program

As Vice President at the WTBC, Greg provides consulting and executive coaching services to client companies.  Prior to joining WTBC in June 2009, Greg was a department manager at UW with more than sixty employees.  Prior to UW Greg was co-owner in a technology training company in Laramie, a co-founder of a software startup company that relocated to Dallas, and served as a client consultant to Fortune 500 companies for Aspen Tree Software before the company relocated to Colorado. His experience in technology includes application service provider (ASP) development and traditional software development from a project manager prospective.  He has managed employees in a variety of business settings from restaurants to the federal government to transportation and education. Greg has published articles in national trade publications relating to software implementation and general management topics. Greg was among the first winners of the new business challenge awarded by the Laramie Chamber of Commerce. Greg’s background in entrepreneurship, human resources management, and his work with a large variety of different business types make him a valuable asset to the WTBC.  He received his B.A. with a double major in Business Administration and Psychology from Bellevue University and his M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver.

Jane Tweed, Facilities Manager

Jane is the Facilities Manager for the Wyoming Technology Business Center. Jane coordinates the conference facility, client services, building maintenance, and building accounts.  The WTBC facilities include two conference rooms, client wet-lab space, and office space.  She coordinates the billing services to clients and guest of the WTBC.  She assists with maintaining the grants the WTBC is responsible for.  She assists with both client and non-client events the WTBC assists with. 

Jane has previously worked for the Teton County Sheriff’s Department in Idaho and upon moving back home to Laramie Jane worked for the City of Laramie as a dispatcher and the Laramie Port of Entry as a port of entry specialist.


Wade Ettleman, Building Automation Specialist

Wade is the Building Automation Specialist for the Wyoming Technology Business Center. Wade is in charge of the mechanical and electrical systems and keeps the building running smoothly. Wade keeps an eye on energy use and power quality so the equipment runs efficiently and reliably. His other duties include working on building automation systems across campus and assisting Physical Plant with electrical and mechanical designs and installations.
Prior to joining the WTBC, Wade was the Johnson Controls Lead System Specialist on campus. Wade has installed or supervised the installation of the building automation system in most new buildings on the campus of UW, since joining JCI in 2002. Prior to moving to Laramie, Wade was Mining District Electrical Supervisor with Kiewit Mining Group, a subsidiary of Peter Kiewit and Sons Construction. Wade has owned his own electrical contracting company in Wyoming, and is a licensed master electrician in several western states. Wade’s extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems with emphasis on controls is a great fit for the University of Wyoming and the WTBC.

Troy Scott, Systems Specialist
Troy Scott is the Systems Specialist for the Wyoming Technology Business Center.  Troy provides advanced level technology expertise for staff and clients of the WTBC.   While responsible for general computing and information infrastructure, Troy also helps coordinate the WTBC’s IT needs with the IT services provided by the University of Wyoming.  Also, Troy is responsible for the configuration, administration, and security of the Data Center operated by the WTBC.  Documentation of the the LAN, WAN and operational infrastructure also falls within Troy’s duties.  Troy’s experience and educational background, as well as dedication teamwork, makes him a crucial addition to the WTBC team. 
Prior to the WTBC, Troy worked for Raytheon Polar Services Company in the Information Technology Department of the McMurdo Station in Antarctica.  As a member of a five person team, Troy was responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and security of a multi-platform environment including Microsoft Windows and UNIX servers and server clusters. Troy performed tasks such as server inventory, consolidation of server infrastructure, documentation of server configurations and operating procedures, and user training. 
Troy received his B.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Wyoming.  He then went on to further his education, receiving his M.S. in Business from the University of Wyoming. 

Rachel Martin, Office Associate
Rachel is the Office Associate for the Wyoming Technology Business Center.  Rachel Works primarily with the Data Center. Rachel is responsible for communicating with the Data Center clients, accounting and coordinating Data Center events with the least amount of impact to the data center clients. In addition, Rachel will assist with the building and conference facilities as needed.
Rachel has previously worked in clerical capacities for Pence and MacMillan, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and FEMA. 
Rachel received her B.A. in English (emphasis in writing) from Metropolitan State College of Denver.  She is in the process of finalizing her choice of a master’s program.

Shipra Mehta, WTBC Intern
Shipra is an Intern for the Wyoming Technology Business Center. She did her bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from India. Shipra worked for almost two years in various roles in a manufacturing firm and an engineering consulting firm, in India, before coming to Laramie, Wyoming.

Shipra received her master’s in Business Administration from the University of Wyoming in May 2008. Currently, Shipra is looking forward to specialize in finance by pursuing M.S. in Finance from the University of Wyoming starting in fall of 2008.
