2008 Prevention Needs Assessment SurveyOverviewThe Wyoming Survey and Analysis Center (WYSAC) is pleased to announce the upcoming 2008 Prevention Needs Assessment (PNA). This survey is sponsored by the Wyoming Department of Health, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division and is endorsed by the Wyoming Department of Education. This will be the fourth time that the PNA has been conducted in Wyoming and WYSAC hopes to continue the tradition of providing the state, counties, and school districts with good, high quality information to aid in their decision making. The PNA is developed to measure a wide variety of attitudes, beliefs, perceptions that have been shown to be related to alcohol, tobacco, and drug use, along with violent and problem behaviors. It also monitors the percent of students that have used or are currently using alcohol, tobacco, and/or other drugs; along with the percent who are participating or have participated in violent and other problem behaviors. PNA is unique because it helps bridge the distance between some of the “causes” and the actual problem behaviors endorsed by the students. Information from this survey can be used to choose and evaluate prevention interventions, strategies and policies for schools, school districts, communities and the State of Wyoming. Visitors to this website will find up-to-date information about the 2008 PNA, along with training materials and survey administration helps. Please feel free to download and view the materials on this website. If you have any questions, concerns or would simply like to talk to the research team, we are here to talk to you. |
