The Residence Halls offer a diverse and exciting experience you will appreciate for the rest of your life. By choosing to live in the residence halls you are more likely to stay in school, graduate, and are generally more likely to be satisfied with your college experience. With activities and programming planned with on-campus students in mind, Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center, Coe Library and the Wyoming Union just a block away, and Washakie Dining Center right next door, you will have instant access to everything you need right from where you live.
Collaboration and camaraderie with your fellow Pokes is easy with Living Learning Communities. Living-Learning Communities, or LLCs, are groups of students with the same academic interests, identities, or types of involvement. These students live together on the same floor of the residence halls, are led by Resident Assistants who often share the same interests or identities, and participate in activities related to their LLCs’ theme. LLCs are designed for you to build connections and community with other students and facilitate grater learning and interaction outside the classroom.
Downey, McIntyre, White, and the Tobin House primarily house incoming freshman student. These close-knit hall communities will enhance your experience of living on-campus. Most rooms are double-occupancy and are furnished with two extra-long twin beds (with mattresses) that can be bunked or lofted, two chairs, two desks, closet spaces with drawers, and one sink.
Most hall floors have central common areas and study rooms. Each floor is staffed by two live-in Resident Assistants who monitor the halls and promote community engagement. There are three residence hall room options for you to choose from:

Any concerned individual can refer a student who may be experiencing academic, personal or emotional challenges or who may be demonstrating concerning, distressed, or disruptive behavior to the UWYO CARES Team by submitting a referral form. Submitting a referral simply means you have a concern about a student's well-being. Receipt of this form initiates the outreach process (typically by a Student Welfare Coordinator).
Your referral may be the activating event that helps a student get connected to resources, or you may be providing supplemental information about a student that assists in our ability to more appropriately them.
A UWYO CARES referral should NOT be used for emergency situations. Please contact UWPD at 307-766-5179 for on campus emergencies or dial 911.
