SPRING Events Schedule

February 13th, 2024 • 5PM - 8PM: Date Night at the Museum

This Valentines season, join UWAM for a unique date night filled with live music by J Shogren, food, drinks, and romantic art making opportunities.

J Shogren is “an affable bear of a man” (NYTimes), a “brilliant storyteller” (Rootsy), and a “Wyoming music legend” (WY Trib Eagle) whose songs has taken him from the local bar scene to the Lincoln Center and Kennedy Center. In a voice “like one of those great bluesmen from ninety years ago” (Oliver di Place), his dark humorous stories are “endearingly eclectic” (NewSong) and “like a garden full of wildflowers” (Performing Songwriter). “Split the difference between Cohen and Dylan…you’ll have a place to start” (Rambles). His catawampus songwriting explores roots & traditional music filtered through a contemporary dissonant transmitter: “Americana at its best” (Village Records). He has played nearly all the stages, theatres, festivals, and cook-outs in Wyoming and the Rocky Mtns, and even ventured out a few times to his favorite big cities like Stockholm and Duluth. Learn more about J Shrogen and his work at his Bandcamp.
