UW Supports Albany County Face Protection Order

The University of Wyoming supports an order that goes into effect Friday, Nov. 6, requiring face protection in many public settings in Albany County.

The order, issued by Albany County Health Officer Dr. Jean Allais and approved by Wyoming State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist, is in response to a significant increase in COVID-19 cases in the county.

“The university has had a face protection requirement for our campus since summer, based on the fact that proper face coverings are scientifically shown to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission,” UW President Ed Seidel says. “We appreciate the work of our local officials to put this important provision in place for our whole community.”
