Cybersecurity Education and Research Center

The University of Wyoming Cybersecurity Education and Research (CEDAR)  center exists to provide centralized resources and communication to university, government, community, and industry partners in all aspects relating to cybersecurity. CEDAR's primary objective is the development and support of cybersecurity education, research, and outreach at the UW with specific emphasis on undergraduate education and research. Finally, the center extends its community outreach objectives through a strong commitment to K16 and continuing education initiatives.

CEDAR's primary goal is to provide high-quality education, materials, and support to advance Wyoming’s cybersecurity capabilities.

The center relies on revamped collegiate-level security coursework in conjunction with corporate and government partnerships, outreach, and cross-disciplinary university support.  For more information on our past and current collaborations see our partnership page.

CEDAR’s 2020 objectives include:

  • Graduate at least five (5) Computer Science majors with a concentration in Cybersecurity

  • Develop a leading Cybersecurity lab (with 4+ PhD students, and 6+ MS students); and

  • Receive National Security Agency/Department of Homeland Security (NSA/DHS) Center of Academic Excellence designation.
