Wyoming INBRE Phase 4

Following on previous INBREs, the long-term goal of WY INBRE-5 is to establish and sustain a statewide network for biomedical research and excellence. The Specific Aims of the program are to: 1) build on the established multi-disciplinary research network that will strengthen biomedical research expertise, education, and infrastructure at the University of Wyoming (UW) and its partner CCs; 2) provide a Student Research Program (SRP) for Wyoming undergraduate students that will increase interest and enrollment in academic programs and opportunities to continue in biomedical and health science education and research careers within IDeA states; 3) build and increase the research base and capacity of UW and its partner institutions by providing research support to faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students; and 4) Expand Wyoming research opportunities across other IDeA programs and the IDeA Western Region. FUNDING OPPORTUNITY: WYOMING COMMUNITY COLLEGE/ UW-CASPER STEM SEED GRANTS - Through funding from the NIGMS, the Wyoming INBRE Program requests proposals from Wyoming Community College and UWCasper faculty to the Wyoming INBRE Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Seed Grants. The goal of this program is to support community college and UWCasper faculty engaged in research and education that will enhance the preparation and numbers of community college students transferring to UW in biomedical-related disciplines. Proposals can request support for a variety of research or education needs. Apply by 5/1/2025 at 5 pm. Learn more>

APRIL 24-25, 2025: Wyoming INBRE Spring Research Conference at  the UW Conference Center - Faculty, students and associates from across the Wyoming INBRE network visit UW for our annual Spring Research Conference. INBRE funded collaborative investigators and Community College project leads give talks throughout the day and students present their research via poster sessions each evening. The annual Wyoming INBRE Spring Research Conference is an excellent opportunity to network, learn more about INBRE's impact in Wyoming, and get to know your peers from other institutions! REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS: Wyoming Community College-University of Wyoming 2025 INBRE Transition Student Program - This progam offers competitive awards for outstanding community college life science students who are transferring to the University of Wyoming to pursue careers in the biomedical sciences and/or allied health fields. REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS: UW Summer INBRE REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) - 2 positions available in MOLB - This REU is only open to WY Community College students intending to transfer to UW in Fall 2025. Competitive awards are for full-time mentored research in MOLB. Start date of 10 week session: May 19th. Interns present their research at the UW Summer Research Symposium on July 24th.
