The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host a gallery walk-through of the 48th annual Juried UW Student Exhibition Monday, May 1, from 3-4:30 p.m.
Participating student artists will discuss their work, processes and inspirations during the free public event. Additionally, they will be available to answer attendees’ questions.
The annual Juried UW Student Exhibition is open to any student enrolled at UW or any in-state student enrolled through UW distance courses during the current academic year. This year, 70 students submitted 174 works of art for review. From those, 52 works by 42 artists were accepted into the exhibition.
The student exhibition is juried each year by an out-of-state art professional. This year’s exhibition was selected by artist Ron Kroutel, a professor emeritus of art at Ohio University’s School of Art + Design.
During the recent awards ceremony, college deans, members of the UW Art Museum National Advisory Board, businesses, individuals, UW Student Art League members and the juror presented 42 scholarship and purchase awards, cumulatively valued at over $14,000. To view the list of award winners, go here.
The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, May 13.
