UW School of Computing Accepting Faculty Fellows Program Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the University of Wyoming School of Computing’s Faculty Fellows program for the 2024-25 academic year. The application deadline is Friday, April 19, and recipients and proposals will be announced in May.

The UW School of Computing will accept proposals from any discipline and has received proposals from a wide range of fields, including engineering, physical sciences, humanities, performing arts, business, education and health sciences.

The Faculty Fellows program is designed to help identify and encourage computing activities across UW, and to contribute to building a vibrant, diverse computing community that spans across academic departments.

The program supports projects that enhance computing research, learning and engagement at UW, aligning with the School of Computing and broader institutional goals and priorities. The projects could include developing courses; providing training; developing new research directions; preparing applications for computing platforms, such as at the National Center for Atmospheric Research-Wyoming Supercomputing Center; developing proposals for external funding; and developing external partnerships or professional development.

Faculty Fellowships provide faculty members with recognition of their computing activities, provide financial support and lead to opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

The program creates a mutually beneficial environment where UW faculty members receive dedicated resources to advance their research projects, enhancing their collaboration efforts and advancing innovation in field-specific computing applications.

Faculty Fellows are encouraged to engage students in their research, promoting experiential learning and aligning with UW’s mission of advancing knowledge and serving the community.
