The Department of Ecosystem Science and Management (ESM) integrates four disciplines: rangeland ecology, hydrology/watershed management, soil science, and entomology. In ESM, our students learn not only their own discipline but also how their discipline relates to others. Our research tackles the information gaps that are at the frontiers of science and resource management, particularly those that reside in the connections between disciplines. Our programs in extension and outreach offer integrated solutions to real-world problems that cross disciplinary boundaries.
We offer a multitude of research opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. For detailed information on faculty expertise and research interests, please visit the our Faculty Directory.
