StartRight+

 

What is it?

StartRight+ is an equitable access (EA), digital-first book program designed to provide all undergraduate students with their required course materials at a flat rate of $275 per semester. The program aims to simplify the process of acquiring textbooks and course materials while ensuring affordability and accessibility for all students.

Your textbooks are all available in WyoCourse/Canvas by clicking the “My Textbooks” tab within a course module. But you can also access materials through the Bookshelf app, your textbooks are always at your fingertips, whether you’re on campus or commuting. Download it to your device, and not only can you access your materials offline, but you’ll also find great study tools like notetaking and highlighting features!

What is included:

StartRight+ provides all necessary written course materials, available in eBook or printed format. This includes required course packets, lab workbooks, and any printed books unavailable in digital format.

What is not included:

StartRight+ does not cover additional course supplies such as lab coats and art supplies. These items must be purchased separately by the students.

Affordability & Value

All required course materials will be delivered for one low, predictable, flat rate, significantly increasing affordability and positively affecting academic outcomes. The cost can be covered by financial aid and is the same price regardless of major.

StartRight+ is a flat rate of $275 per semester (Fall and Spring) for course materials upfront for the 2024-2025 academic year, giving undergraduate students a predictable cost.

Convenience

Students will no longer have to stress about academic materials during the busy start of the semester. Required digital course materials will automatically be available within their WyoCourses/Canvas account at the start of the semester. This means students can focus on finalizing their schedule and settling in without the added stress of evaluating course material prices.

Supports Student Success

Students are free to explore their academic interests without weighing the costs of the associated course materials. Once enrolled in a course, students have access to their materials, which means they can start studying right away. The digital format provides an accessible, easy-to-use navigation with enhanced functionality to help students collaborate and study.

Sustainability

Using a digital-first model, StartRight+ provides digital course materials whenever available. This will substantially decrease the university’s carbon footprint by reducing the printing and shipping of physical books.
