To help the University of Wyoming meet a federal compliance requirement to gather accurate workforce demographics, the campus community is encouraged to participate in the yearly self-identification campaign.
The important tool allows employees to anonymously and voluntarily share their diversity data so that UW can implement strategies that build a supportive, inclusive and diversified culture. The federal government also requires UW to invite all employees to self-identify campuswide every five years.
“The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs instructs UW to visually identify on behalf of employees who have not done so,” says Christi Carter, director of strategic inclusivity initiatives in the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “This is an opportunity for employees to self-identify their important demographic data themselves. Our data indicates that we still have plenty of opportunities to improve the capturing of accurate workforce demographics.”
