UW Students Invited to Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Program April 19

University of Wyoming students can learn about financial wellness from Steve Lupien, director of UW’s Center for Blockchain and Digital Innovation, Tuesday, April 19.

The Associated Students of UW (ASUW) will host an informative blockchain and cryptocurrency program from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Wyoming Union West Ballroom. The event is free for UW students.

UW is among only a handful of universities nationwide with such blockchain centers, including Arizona State University, the University of Arkansas, Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Duke University, the University of Michigan, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University and the University of Texas-Austin.

The UW Center for Blockchain and Digital Innovation features an interdisciplinary approach among UW colleges -- including the College of Business, the College of Engineering and Applied Science, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the College of Law -- as well as the state’s community colleges. The center focuses on fostering innovation; applied research and education; technology development; economic development and job growth; and corporate engagement.

UW launched the Center for Blockchain and Digital Innovation in late 2020.
