What We've Accomplished Since Our Last Review
Since reaccreditation in 2020, UW’s notable achievements include:
- Implementation of a new strategic plan, Forward for Wyoming 2023+
- In 2025 the University of Wyoming achieved Carnegie R1 Institutional status.This prestigious designation recognizes our commitment to groundbreaking research,
academic excellence, and impactful discoveries that benefit Wyoming and the world.
- Creation of the Office of Community Engagement and becoming a Carnegie Community-Engaged Insitution in January 2024.
- Creation of the School of Computing. The University of Wyoming's School of Computing promotes digital skills and innovation,
equipping students, faculty, staff, and Wyoming communities with essential computational
tools to drive statewide transformation. As a leader in computational research, education,
and engagement, the school serves as a central digital resource for the university
and its partners, emphasizing excellence, inclusivity, experiential learning, and
integration of computing across disciplines.
- In 2020 the University moved to the online catalog system Acalog to make course and program info more easy to manage and access by our staff, faculty,
and students.
- In 2023 the University of Wyoming launched its Navigate Advising system. Navigate is a student success tool at the University of Wyoming. Available
to students, advisors, faculty and staff members, Navigate increases access to support
services, keeping students on track towards achieving their goals. It is available
in both mobile and desktop versions.
- In 2021 the construction of the new dormitories began. Their completion and move in is set for Fall 2025.
