Preparing for entry to AFROTC at UW
1. Course Registration:
- Sign up for AIR1010 when registering for classes. If you're a 3-year student, also
enroll in AIR2010.
- Register for the Leadership Laboratory on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
2. Review Commander's Welcome Letter:
Reach out to AFROTC at UW by emailing AFROTC@uwyo.edu or calling 307-766-2357/2357 to learn more about participation.
4. Receive Welcome Email:
Look out for a welcome email from Detachment Cadre/NCOs. It will contain instructions
and forms to be filled out before attending NSOP.
5. Attend NSOP (New Student Orientation Program):
Attend the mandatory AFROTC New Student Orientation Program (NSOP).
- Here's the NSOP schedule:
- 1330: Introduction with Detachment 940 Cadre and Upperclassmen Cadets (Business
Building Room 121)
- 1400: Enrollment paperwork, document verification (Business Building Room
121)
- 1500: Cadets meet & greet with Flight Commander; Parents Q/A with cadre (Business
Building Room 121)
- ~1515: Transition to BBQ (Washington Park)
6. Bring Required Documents to NSOP:
If applicable, bring the following documents:
Immunization Records
Copies of ACT & SAT score sheets
Copy of Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Selective Service Card
College Transcripts (other than UWyo)
High School Transcripts (If AP Courses)
Private Pilot’s License
JROTC certificate
Eagle Scout certificate
Girl Scout Gold Award certificate
Civil Air Patrol Award certificate
DD Fm 785 – Record of Disenrollment from Officer Candidate Training (i.e. AFROTC
or Service Academy)
DD Fm 4 – Enlistment/Reenlistment (if prior military service)
DD Fm 214 – Copy 4 – Certificate of Discharge (if prior military service)
