Army ROTC: What It Takes
Joining Army ROTC Cowboy Battalion allows students to develop leadership skills and military discipline while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree along with an Army ROTC Military Science Minor. Cadets from our ROTC program are held to a high standard and consistently exceed their own expectations as they gain valuable experience, receive specialized training and prepare for successful careers.
Army ROTC Program General Requirements:
- Be a United States citizen.
- Be at least 17 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be medically and physically qualified.
- Maintain minimum academic requirements—2.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average.
- Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard.

Cowboy Battalion cadets consistently outperform other ROTC cadets in both physical fitness and academics, giving them a greater chance to attend prestigious schools like Airborne, Air Assault, Mountain Warfare, Combat Diver and Northern Warfare. Additionally, we offer Cadet Professional Development Training (CPDT), including Cadet Advanced Individual Training (CAIT), Army Internships and Cadet Troop Leader Training (CTLT) across the globe.
