On Campus Interview (OCI) Employer Policies & Procedures

The On Campus Interview (OCI) program provides employers the opportunity to interview current University of Wyoming College of Law students for immediate, summer, and postgraduate positions.  OCI runs two times a year, Fall OCI is typically held in the month of September; Spring OCI is held during February.  Registration and dates are released in June and December, respectively.  To join our email list, please contact Michell Anderson at manders2@uwyo.edu

We deeply appreciate employers' willingness to recruit from the UW College of Law.  As this is a learning opportunity for many students, we encourage employers to provide feedback so they can learn and improve.  Additionally, should time allow, please consider interviewing as many students as possible to provide the experience to students who may not otherwise be selected.

Spring 2025 OCI

We have availability Monday-Friday, February 3-28, on a strict first-come, first-served basis.  Interviews can be held virtually, but we hope you'll prefer to be on campus in our newly renovated building!

The following dates are currently available for in-person interviews:
February 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28

The following dates are currently available for virtual interviews:
February 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28

Employers are encouraged to sign up early to secure a date that is most convenient for their schedule.  Due to our small class size, most interviews can be accommodated with half-day schedules.

Employer Process

All participating employers' opportunities will be posted in the UW POKES job portal under the OCI tab, which will become available for student viewing and application submission.  The posting will close approximately two weeks before the interview date.  Our office will submit a PDF copy of all applications to the stated contact, and employers will then review and select candidates for interviews.  Upon receipt of those selections, Career Services will notify all students and coordinate the interview schedule.  Employers will receive that schedule and final instructions before the interview date.

Please submit the OCI Request Form online (link available in December) as soon as your organization determines its needs.

If you prefer to simply receive resumes, you can request a Resume Book, or employers may always post positions to our general job board through our Job Posting Form

Policies & Procedures
The University of Wyoming College of Law greatly values our relationships with organizations that support, recruit and hire UW Law students. These Policies & Procedures ensure the highest levels of professionalism, fairness, and opportunity for all members of the Wyoming Law Community involved in these activities, including current students, future students, alumni, and employers. The Policies & Guidelines also incorporate the National Association for Law Placement’s (NALP) Principles for a Fair and Ethical Recruitment Process.

General Provisions

  1. All offers to law student candidates, whether for summer employment or full-time employment following graduation, should remain open for at least two weeks (14 days) after the date of the written offer.

    a. An employer should confirm every offer in writing, with all relevant details. The offer letter date serves as the effective offer date for all timelines and deadlines.

    b. Employers should grant reasonable requests for extensions to students to whom they have extended offers.

    c. Students should respond to offers earlier than this deadline if possible.

  2. Employers should let students know their hiring decisions within a reasonable window after conducting interviews, no later than 30 days.

  3. To be eligible to participate in Fall OCI, students must have completed their first year of law school. Dates for Spring OCI will be determined the preceding fall. In addition to current 2L and 3L students, 1L students will be eligible to participate in Spring OCI opportunities if your organization is interested.

Given the small size of the Office of Career Services & Professional Development (OCSPD) staff, the offer windows stated above will provide the time for candidates to thoughtfully consider offers and consult with OCSPD staff, College of Law administrators and faculty about their options.

Compliance

By participating in the College of Law’s OCI program, the organization is agreeing to comply with these provisions. Organizations not complying with the above rules may be subject to Law School-imposed recruiting restrictions.

UW College of Law Equal Employment Opportunity Policy
