Make Yourself at Home.

At UW, students will find the accommodations and lifestyle they're looking for as they cycle through college, placing them in the center of university life. Living on campus provides students with experiences and accessibility that won't be found anywhere else. Our on-campus apartments give students easy access to the events and activities happening around campus, surround them with friends, offer learning beyond the classroom, and of course make the commute to class that much shorter.

ATTENTION: If you are interested in a University of Wyoming Apartment for the 2023-2024 academic year,

Our Apartments

Students who live on campus for at least two years are more likely to graduate in four years than those who live there for only one year. We encourage students to stay on the path of success and consider living in our on-campus apartments.

The University of Wyoming Apartments provides the only on-campus housing for students, faculty, and staff in Laramie. When you choose to live on campus, you can take advantage of the opportunities right outside your door. Enjoy the convenience of all-inclusive, affordable living while stepping away from academic buildings, student services, and campus dining locations.

Parking Information: Residents leasing at the University of Wyoming Apartments are entitled to one parking permit per leaseholder, valid for the surrounding lots. Please note that there are no assigned parking spaces for individual units. Should you require additional permits, you can purchase them for the Purple lot through Transportation Services.

Apartment Eligibility & Application

Anyone who meets the University Apartments' eligibility requirements may submit an online application application. Please note that the application fee is non-refundable and does not automatically guarantee or hold a spot for applicants in the apartments.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Eligibility requirements state that Undergraduate students must be officially enrolled, admitted, and registered for at least 6 credit hours per semester. Graduate students must be officially enrolled, admitted, and registered for at least 1 credit hour per semester.

  • Correspondence and audited courses are not counted towards the eligibility requirement.

  • Progress toward degree completion is required.

  • The apartment may be occupied only by people named on the application/contract. This includes roommates listed on the contract.

The University reserves the right, upon 30 days' notice to tenants, to increase rental, damage, and/or other related charges. Apartment rates may be adjusted quarterly during the contract period to compensate for any changes in utility consumption and/or costs.

Vacating Procedures

University of Wyoming Apartment residents are required to provide at least 60 days' notice before checking out of their apartment. You can provide this notice by properly completing an "Intent to Vacate" form online at least 60 days before the date you check out. To properly provide this notice, an “Intent to Vacate” (ITV) form must be submitted online. Failure to provide proper notice of your intent to vacate may result in a $200 fee.

At least two weeks before your vacate date, you should make an appointment with your Resident Assistant (RA) to schedule a specific check-out time. As soon as you know when you want to check out of your apartment, please contact your RA or schedule an appointment at the community center front desk.  You should plan to be present for your check-out appointment.

Helpful Tips & Tricks

A written 60-day notice of Intent to Vacate (ITV) is required in advance of your move-out. The ITV form is available online. The notice is effective from the day Housing receives it and may not be canceled or changed.

File a change of address with the U.S. Postal Office at least two weeks prior to moving out.  Change of address requests are effective for 6 months.  Once you move out and are no longer a resident at your address, you will not be allowed access to your mailbox.

Clean your apartment. Residents are required to return the apartment to the original condition, excluding normal wear and tear.

  1. Remove all trash from the apartment, patio and/or balcony.

  2. Remove all personal belongings.

  3. Clean floors, cupboards, countertops, and walls. Grease and dirt must be removed from all surfaces.

  4. The stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator must be cleaned. Remember to clean underneath and behind the stove and refrigerator.

  5. Clean bathroom floor, bathtub/shower, basins, toilets, mirrors, and medicine cabinets.

  6. Vacuum the carpet.

  7. Leave your apartment empty and clean.

Your apartment deposit will be refunded if you provide proper notice, check out properly, and there are no outstanding charges. All refunds will be processed through the Housing & Dining Services Business Office within 30 days of your lease ending date and credited toward the leaseholder's last credit card used to make a payment. If any damages are assessed at move out, the Housing & Dining Services Business Office will credit any balance within 60 days of checkout or lease end date.

Charges will be posted to your account for payment, and you will receive a checkout statement via email. If payment is not made promptly, your charges will be transferred to your University account for further collection.

HINT: Make sure you list a forwarding address on your WyoWeb account, so if you have chosen to receive your deposit refund by check, it can be mailed.
